5 Ways to Enhance the Design of Your Pool

Over the years, we’ve seen so many pools elevated from good to great just by incorporating some simple and clever design ideas. Here are 8 of our favourites to give you some inspiration to transform your own backyard pool.

1. Embracing curves

This spa on the South Coast of NSW became a standout feature simply by custom shaping the large format Premium Light Travertine Coping to suit the curve of the spa. It really was the perfect finishing touch to an already stunning outlook.

2. Stepping stones

This pool in South Western Sydney bridged the pool and spa areas with Materia Antracita stepping stones.  Not only do stepping stones function as an additional walkway, but they are a great way to add seating close to the wet areas. And look how much more luxurious the space looks as a result.

3. Spillover spa

A modern and truly minimalist design. This project in Inner Sydney integrated the spa and pool with a spillover. The consistent use of glass mosaic throughout the interior offset by the Bluenorte pavers worked beautifully.

4. Rebated pool coping

Rebated Pool Copings serve two great purposes. Firstly, they have a strong visual impact on the pool, giving the appearance of an 80mm thick slab rather than a paver. Secondly, they effectively hide both the screed and adhesive beds being used for installation, making for the cleanest available finish on the market today.

5. Water feature

This project in the ACT combined traditional stone Wall Cladding, Alpena Piedra Porcelain Pavers, and a striking gloss white water feature. The feature was used to brighten the area, perfectly contrasting the deep blue of the Jonico Glass Mosaics.
